TAP&GO - Mobility as a Service

Our sustainable mindset and need for flexibility set new standards on how we move from A to B.

THE USER

In this example, the user is a middle class person living in a city in Sweden. They are 40 years old, have a partner and three children.

Let’s call them Anna.

Anna loves the environment and values comfort, convenience and flexibility when travelling. She occasionally travels to other cities for work and daily visit locations around town to attend meetings and go for lunch.

THE PROBLEM

Anna does not like leaving her own car at an expensive parking lot all day long, feeling the pressure of having to drive it back home again if she would rather like to walk or enjoy a glass of wine with some friends.

She thus finds herself feeling restricted by her car, rather than liberated. On the days she leaves the car at home, she must regularly rush home with public transport to pick the car up before running errands or picking up her children. She is often stressed and tired.

Her way of life demands more flexibility.

THE SOLUTION

Imagine a world where cars are not owned. A world where cars are not lined up at a parking lot all day long without being utilized, taking up space within the city and must be attended to. Imagine a world where mobility is a service, rather than something you own.

A service where you simply need to tap, and then you’re ready to go.

Scenario 1

Anna wants to travel from Gothenburg to Kungsbacka so she searches for available options in the app. She is recommended to take a nearby electric scooter to the closest car which is 1,5 km away. This sounds perfect so she makes a reservation in the app, walks to the scooter and is ready to go.

When Anna gets to the car with the scooter, she unlocks it and leaves the scooter behind. As she changes means of transportation she is automatically logged out of the scooter and is logged in to the car.

The journey can continue.

Scenario 2

Anna needs a car for grocery shopping, so she opens the app and finds there are several options available. As it is raining outside she would like her car to be brought to the office, so she chooses a time and places a request. A few moments later she gets a notification confirming that someone* is available to bring the car to her chosen location.

At the selected time, she walks down the stairs to find the car available at the door. She conveniently runs her errands and keeps the car for as long as she likes. When done she either parks it at a suggested charging station for free, only paying for the time she used it - or leaves it wherever she likes, paying a fee equal the distance from the nearest charging station.
